Something that I think detracts from the piece a bit is the heart up near the top left corner. It's a bit too rough around the edges, whereas all the other brushes have softer edges. I think just blurring it a bit would make it work better for the piece overall.
The manip inside the window is great. I love that it's well done and seemless. However, I would consider adding a reflective light or something on the glass, to make it look like it really is a window. Maybe even a reflection of the ceiling lights inside the room?
As for the phrases scattered around the work, I would try to come up with more original phrases. One of them is lyrics from a Madonna song, for example. It would add a lot more to the piece if the phrases came from your heart and mind.
But overall, I think you did a great job, and I'm sure your friend loved it!
I did add sort of a reflection on the window, it's on the left edge and the top of the window, just a faint border, like the wood is being reflected.
Which one of the phrases is from a Maddona song? I'll need to fix that right away.
And what I mean by reflection is a glimmer or shine in the glass itself from a light source.
I see, I guess I can give it a try.
